Police detain young men for frightening people with a rifle

On Gotvald Street, 22 in Yekaterinburg, law enforcement officers detained three men, one of whom had a rifle. During the detention, they were laid face down in the snow with assault rifles pointed at them, which happened in front of passersby.
The detained individuals did not resist arrest when apprehended by the authorities.
As it turned out, the operation was carried out after complaints from local residents. They reported that these young men were scaring passersby by displaying weapons.
«A report was received at the centralized security console that three young men were scaring passersby with weapons. To establish all the circumstances, two details of the non-departmental security were sent to the specified address, where the information was confirmed. Observing all precautions, employees of the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardiya) detained three young people and handed them over upon arrival to the police investigative-operational group,» the press service of the Rosgvardiya Directorate reported.
The police confirmed the fact of the delivery of the three detainees.
«The items seized from the delivered citizens have been sent for examination. Regarding the incident, officers of the local police service of department No. 11 are conducting an inspection, based on the results of which a justified decision will be made,» stated the Yekaterinburg Police Department (UMVD).
According to preliminary data, the seized rifle may turn out to be a dummy, and the pistol may be gas-powered. Reports that there was shooting during the incident have not yet been confirmed.
