Police detain Tyumen woman in child kidnapping investigation

The woman has been detained as part of an ongoing investigation into the fraud and kidnapping case.
A woman from Surgut may be involved in the high-profile kidnapping of a Krasnoyarsk entrepreneur«s child. She has been detained, the Investigative Committee reported.
«According to the investigation, on January 21, 2026, the girl, acting in concert with fraudsters, flew to the city of Krasnoyarsk. On January 22, she went to the teenager»s residence, where together they broke into safes and stole 3 million rubles (approximately $30,000 at current rates). That evening, she handed the money over to the fraudsters, keeping part of it for herself. After that, the girl and the teenager went to an apartment rented by unknown persons and waited for further instructions,« — as stated in the message from law enforcement.
The high-profile incident occurred on January 22 in Krasnoyarsk. At that time, a search was announced for 14-year-old Nikolay Kapli, who was said to be the son of entrepreneur Andrey Kapli. Footage was also published showing the child leaving with an unknown girl. Later, the parents received a video with a ransom demand. It later became known that the businessman was missing three million rubles (approximately $30,000 at current rates).
«During the investigation, it was established that on January 22, 2026, the teenager, acting on the instructions of persons unknown to him, stole money totaling 3 million rubles (approximately $30,000 at current rates) from his home, belonging to his father, and together with a girl who had arrived from another city, left the home,» — investigators wrote earlier.
The boy and the girl were found on January 24. The Ministry of Internal Affairs used the phrasing «allegedly kidnapped». The teenager«s life is not in danger. The girl was detained.
