Police detain foreigner following axe attack in Lupolovo
On January 26, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast reported the detention of a 41-year-old foreigner. The man is suspected of attacking his former partner in the village of Lupolovo, Vsevolozhsky District.
The incident occurred on the evening of January 17. The 38-year-old homeowner contacted the police after the intruder broke in with an axe and began smashing doors and windows.
The woman used pepper spray, after which the attacker fled, throwing the axe through a window. Criminal investigation operatives detained him the day before.
The suspect was placed in isolation for the next two days. The man came from Europe for work purposes but is not officially employed. He is charged with intentional damage to property.
