Polar region man breaks into store, tries to hack ATM and steals cash

In Severomorsk, a store employee on Severnaya Zastava Street came to work in the morning and saw that the ATM was damaged, and over 90,000 rubles (about $900 at current rates) were missing from the cash registers and safe. He contacted the police, and officers quickly found the suspect. It turned out to be a 30-year-old man with multiple prior convictions who lives in the same building.
A 30-year-old local resident with a criminal record was arrested for attempting to hack an ATM and stealing cash.

The man explained that he had financial difficulties, which is why he decided to steal. At night, he broke into the store by forcing open a locking device. After several unsuccessful attempts to hack the ATM, he moved on to the cash register and safe.
A criminal case has been initiated under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, for «Attempted theft committed with unlawful entry into premises or other storage, on a large scale.»
Recall, in Kirovsk, two teenagers were detained: they were stealing valuable items from parked cars.
