Near Krasnoyarsk, poachers beat a local resident for interfering with their hunt. A resident of Sukhobuzim appealed to the editorial office of NGS24.RU; according to him, in early January, he witnessed two people on a snowmobile chasing and shooting roe deer in the local taiga. Moreover, this species of roe deer is listed in the Red Book.

«One of the roe deer stumbled and they ran it over with the snowmobile, but when they saw me heading towards them, they stopped. In response to my remark, they said they just wanted to have fun and »fresh meat wouldn«t hurt either». I recognized one of the shooters—he had been previously convicted and in principle had no right to be with a weapon,« Alexander told NGS24.RU.

The man called the police and the hunting inspectorate. Then, according to him, he went to the village to meet them and show the scene of the incident, but when they returned—it turned out that the killed roe deer had already been taken away. From the track marks, the officers determined that it was the same snowmobile that the shooters were riding.

The snowmobile was later found in a neighboring village, with bloodstains on it, Alexander says, and its owner was also identified. In retaliation, the next day these people beat his brother, Alexander says, and tried to burn down the cabin.

Here is what the victim«s brother himself, Victor, told NGS24.RU:

«On January 2nd, my friend and I arrived at the cabin, and at night, acquaintances from the village showed up. They started saying that my brother was behaving incorrectly. Word by word, they started beating me on the head and body. I lost consciousness. My friend saved me; he pulled them away, and later told me that they were running around with canisters, dousing with gasoline, and wanted to burn down the cabin. After that, I was bedridden for three days, couldn»t eat or drink, and when we left the forest, I filed a report with the police.«

Now, the victim fears that the case will be swept under the rug. According to Alexander, since filing the report, he has not been summoned to the police even once.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the region promised to prepare a comment; we will publish it as soon as we receive it.

According to data from the regional Ministry of Natural Resources, in the Sukhobuzimsky district, in just one and a half weeks of January 2026, poachers killed three individuals of Red Book-listed roe deer. This is among those that were able to be identified.
