Pipe burst causes water to soak students in Yeysk school

In Yeysk on January 22, an emergency occurred at School No. 2 named after Lyapidevsky — a pipe burst in the building, causing water to flow from the ceiling from the second floor to the first, according to local media.
First, students noticed the swollen stretch ceiling. Then water gushed down.
The incident happened near the stairwell, and puddles quickly formed on the floor. Footage shows schoolchildren hastily leaving the dangerous spot to avoid getting wet.
As it turned out, the accident occurred in the attic — a water supply pipe burst there. Some children did get wet and were sent home. To stop the waterfall from the school ceiling, the pipes had to be shut off.
«Our guys are escaping. It»s gushing like crazy!«, comments the author of the second video.
The prosecutor«s office commented on the situation as routine. The supervisory agency told portal 93.RU that no one was injured, and all malfunctions will be fixed as soon as possible. The school will resume operation in normal mode tomorrow, and students will return to classes.
No investigation into the incident is being conducted.
Meanwhile, in June 2023, the school underwent a major renovation. The work took 2.5 months. In particular, builders completely dismantled the floors, electrical wiring, heating, water supply, and drainage systems, and replaced old electrical panels with modern ones.
The work was carried out under the regional project «Modernization of School Education Systems» using funds from the federal, regional, and local budgets. The contract amount was over 3.6 million rubles (approximately $36,000 at current rates).
In addition to the major renovation, equipment was purchased: furniture, sports equipment, office equipment, interactive and technological equipment, etc., for a total amount of over 11.3 million rubles (approximately $113,000 at current rates).
