An Azur Air flight from Phuket to Barnaul is preparing for an emergency landing at Lanzhou Airport in China, NGS22.RU reported, citing the airline«s press service.

«We confirm that the aircraft crew has issued a distress signal. Currently, the airline is awaiting details after the plane lands. As soon as the reason for the emergency landing is known and additional information becomes available,» the press service noted.

The aircraft is flying circles in the area of the Chinese airport. The crew fully controls the flight parameters and is performing procedures necessary for preparing to land. The press service added that Azur Air is in contact with Russian aviation authorities and the airline«s representative in China. The airline will promptly inform about the development of the situation.

As indicated on the online board of Barnaul Airport, the flight was scheduled to land at 17:55 local time. The flight is operated on a Boeing 757-2Q8.
