Pensioner Killed in Magnitogorsk After Being Hit Twice
The pedestrian was crossing the road in an unauthorized area, as stated by authorities.
In Magnitogorsk on Tuesday, January 27, a 68-year-old pensioner suffered fatal injuries in an accident involving a Gazelle and a training Volkswagen Passat. The victim died in the hospital, according to MGORSK.RU and the city«s State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI).
The collision occurred on Vokzalnaya Street in Magnitogorsk during daytime hours.
The accident occurred at 11:20 on Vokzalnaya Street. The footage shows the woman crossing the roadway. She is first hit by the Gazelle, then by the Volkswagen.
The traffic police clarified that the pedestrian was crossing in an unauthorized location.
«After the first collision with the victim, a following training Volkswagen Passat, driven by a 38-year-old trainee, also struck her. At that moment, an instructor was in the car, sitting in the front passenger seat,» stated the traffic police comment. «As a result of the collision, the Gazelle vehicle moved forward and collided with the Volkswagen. The pedestrian was taken to a medical facility where she later died.»
According to MGORSK.RU, the pensioner sustained a closed craniocerebral injury, a shoulder fracture, rib fractures, and post-traumatic shock. Before death, the victim fell into a coma.
All circumstances of the incident are being established.
