An incident where a tram hit a pedestrian occurred on January 20 in Chelyabinsk near the Palace of Culture of Railway Workers. A 75-year-old pensioner was crossing the roadway on a red traffic light signal.
The press service of the enterprise «ChelyabGET» reported that the tram driver did not have the technical capability to prevent the collision since he was acting in accordance with the Traffic Rules.
«He was hit by the tram, fortunately, the victim»s life is not currently threatened. We wish him a speedy recovery,« the company stated.
Video footage from a recorder confirms that the elderly man began crossing the road at a prohibiting signal. The victim«s condition is not concerning, his life is not threatened.
