Parents of students at a school in the Primorsky District of St. Petersburg have filed a complaint with Yekaterina Mizulina regarding the actions of the administration. According to them, a staff member in the school cafeteria was found to have an open form of tuberculosis.
In her Telegram channel, Mizulina noted that quarantine was not implemented at the institution. «As it is written, the school is trying in every way to hush up what happened and prohibits teachers from discussing the topic,» she reported.
In published screenshots of correspondence, parents indicate that the cook was fired only after a significant number of schoolchildren began to experience daily coughing and shortness of breath. Students in grades 9-11 were sent for fluorography, while children in grades 1-8 were given a Diaskintest (a diagnostic test for tuberculosis).
«Teachers do not raise this topic among students. <…> The information leaked from one teacher with whom the students more or less communicate,» wrote one of the parents.
The school principal refused to comment on the situation. «We are not giving any comments,» she stated, without waiting for the reporter«s question about the tuberculosis case.
Yekaterina Mizulina also cited a similar example from a gymnasium in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, where an employee continued to work while having an open form of tuberculosis.
