Yevgeny, a resident of Novosibirsk who was paralyzed in Thailand at the end of January, has been delivered to a plane. His wife Olga announced this on social networks, saying the couple would soon return home.

The day before, the Siberian woman said her husband would be transferred from the local hospital to the airport by ambulance. She planned to follow by taxi with their daughter. According to Olga«s posts, the couple was in Phuket. Later, she announced a flight delay.

«We are on the plane, the flight has been delayed, I hope there will be no problems with the transfer,» she wrote.

Earlier, Olga said the couple would travel to Novosibirsk via Moscow, and an anesthesiologist-resuscitator would join them to accompany them on the flight. The total cost of the tickets, according to her, reached 1.5 million rubles (about $16,700 at current rates) — on February 3 she explained why the flight was so expensive.

«Transporting a bedridden patient takes 6 standard seats, plus the installation of a stretcher. That»s why the amount is so huge,« she said. »It looks so scary. I only saw my husband on the plane, we went through control separately.«

Olga stated that her husband was diagnosed in Thailand (a rare disease that completely immobilizes a person). The family planned to return to Novosibirsk on February 4.

The insurance company previously responded to Olga«s complaints. They stated that the client received financial assistance and organizational support under the policy.
