Omsk blogger contests first FAS unboxing case

An Omsk court will hear the first lawsuit in Russia by a blogger against the FAS for unboxing cosmetics. The hearing is scheduled for February 18. As NGS55.RU was told by blogger Asya Sivokoneva, she has brought the dispute with the antimonopoly service to the Arbitration Court of Omsk Region. Earlier, the regional FAS (UFAS) partially recognized her unboxing videos on the banned Instagram* as hidden advertising.

Sivokoneva demands that this decision be overturned, asserting that there was no advertising agreement between her and the brands, and that her reels are merely personal experience.

«We filed a complaint against the decision with the Arbitration Court. On February 18, a hearing will take place where we will seek its annulment. The amount of the fine is not yet known.»

Recall that at the end of 2025, the UFAS for Omsk Region partially recognized two videos by Asya Sivokoneva as advertising. In one reel, according to the agency, she advertised cosmetics, and in the other, she drew attention to a makeup studio.
