Nissan and Skoda veer off M-8 highway in Arkhangelsk region

In Vinogradovsky district, a collision of two foreign cars occurred. Both veered off the M-8 highway into a ditch. Police provided details.

«The driver of the Skoda car, moving from Arkhangelsk towards Moscow, while overtaking a vehicle ahead, did not maintain a safe lateral distance and collided with the Nissan car. As a result of the accident, both cars veered into a ditch. A passenger of the Skoda was injured—a woman born in 1950,» reported the Arkhangelsk Region Police Department.

As clarified by the State Fire Service and Civil Defense Agency (AGPS and GZ), the victim was hospitalized in a district hospital.

«To the accident site immediately arrived the duty crew of the 29th fire station of the State Fire Service and Civil Defense Agency, as well as an ambulance and traffic police. The firefighters provided assistance on the spot and disconnected the battery terminals on both vehicles to prevent fire,» added the agency.

Earlier on Maikmaksanskoye Highway, a truck with a trailer and a passenger car collided.

Also, in recent days, a fatal accident occurred on a highway in Krasnoborsky district—the driver of a Niva died after a collision with a KAMAZ truck.
