New suspect in high-profile Krasnoyarsk 'kidnapping' is from Tyumen

Police have reported the detention of a courier who may have been involved in the fake kidnapping of a child in Krasnoyarsk. The suspect is from Tyumen. This was reported by TASS, citing the official representative of the Russian Interior Ministry, Irina Volk.

«As a result of operational and investigative measures to identify persons involved in fraud against a 14-year-old schoolboy, police have tracked down a courier. He turned out to be a 22-year-old resident of the city of Tyumen,» Volk said.
The young man received a «job» offer in a messenger app. First, he completed two orders in Tyumen for 15,000 rubles (about $167 at current rates) each. Then he flew to Krasnoyarsk to pick up money. The young man was detained in Blagoveshchensk. This is reported by RIA Novosti, citing the Investigative Committee for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia.

The official representative of the Interior Ministry, Irina Volk, published a message in the MAX messenger with similar information about the detention of a young man from Tyumen.
Recall that the high-profile incident occurred on January 22 in Krasnoyarsk. At that time, a search was announced for 14-year-old Nikolai Kapli, the son of a well-known businessman. A video was published showing the teenager leaving one of the city«s elite residential areas with a girl.
It later became known that three million rubles (about $33,300 at current rates) had disappeared from the entrepreneur«s safe. The teenager and the girl were found on January 24. The Interior Ministry used the wording »allegedly kidnapped.« Investigators said that she is from Surgut and had come to Krasnoyarsk specifically.
