Murmansk evacuees get hot food and movies in temporary center

In Murmansk on January 28, on Askoldovtsev Street, a gas collector caught fire, and residents from nearby buildings were evacuated. The area where the emergency occurred was cordoned off.

People are being fed soups, main courses, and provided with drinks at the shelter.

At the Cultural Development Center, where a temporary accommodation point has been set up for Murmansk residents from buildings 18–22 on Askoldovtsev Street, a cinema hall has been organized for watching feature films.

Medical professionals continue to be present at the temporary shelter to assist evacuees.

«Hot meals have also been delivered for the residents, along with an additional batch of portable chargers,» said Murmansk Mayor Ivan Lebedev.

Medical staff and volunteers continue to be on duty at the point. Currently, gas supply to buildings 18 and 22 on Askoldovtsev Street has been switched to backup lines.

Lebedev stated that residents will return to their homes as soon as specialists are sure that the situation poses no danger. Regional authorities also clarified that there is no threat of an explosion.
