Residents of Nizhny Novgorod have been warned that traffic toward Moscow on the M-7 Volga highway is temporarily restricted in the Gorokhovets area of Vladimir Oblast. This is due to a multi-vehicle accident involving more than 10 cars in the afternoon, according to the Vladimir Oblast State Traffic Inspectorate.

Police report that 13 trucks and passenger vehicles collided on the stretch between kilometer markers 325 and 326. As of 14:30, there had been no calls for medical assistance.

According to the Federal Highway Administration«s Moscow – Nizhny Novgorod Directorate, road services are taking measures to restore traffic flow. Specialized equipment has been dispatched to the scene.

«We ask drivers to be understanding of the temporary inconvenience and plan their route in advance, taking the restrictions into account. Be attentive on the roads and choose a speed appropriate for the weather and road conditions,» the agency stated.

The Nizhny Novgorod traffic police also noted that congestion is being observed near the Volodarsky district. Drivers planning to travel on this stretch are asked to seek alternative routes via the M-12 highway or to forgo travel in this direction altogether.

Meanwhile, by the evening of January 27, traffic congestion on the streets of Nizhny Novgorod reached a ten-point level. The road situation has been severely complicated by snowfall.
