The mother of a 14-year-old schoolgirl who attacked a teacher and a student with a knife at Kodinsk School No. 4 in Russia«s Krasnoyarsk region has refused to take her daughter home. This was reported by the Interregional Center for Children»s Rights, citing its own source.
A correspondent for NGS24.RU was told at the center that the woman explained her refusal by saying there were other children at home — the family has many children. They tried to persuade the mother to take her daughter to avoid sending her to a detention facility, but she refused. As a result, the girl was sent to a temporary detention center.
The Investigative Committee clarified that the minor is indeed detained and is in a temporary detention facility, but added that the question of releasing her to go home was not under consideration.
As previously reported, on February 3, the 14-year-old student brought a kitchen knife to school and tried to stab a chemistry teacher, but classmates stopped her. She then wounded a girl from a parallel class. According to official information, the attacker was raised in a complete family with many children and was not on any watchlists. Cases have been opened for attempted murder and negligence. The head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, also took an interest in the story.
In comments under news about the events in Kodinsk, residents of the Krasnoyarsk region defended the attacking girl and said that the bullying had continued for much longer than one day.
