Mother of Sambist Alexandra Lalachkina: 'Everything Was Fine'

On January 24, a tragedy shocked Voronezh: 18-year-old sambist Alexandra Lalachkina was found dead. A day earlier, it became known that the girl had gone missing — she had left for home after classes in a dark blue Mercedes, but her relatives never waited for her.
On January 26, Alexandra«s mother, Yevgenia, commented on the tragedy for REN TV. The woman said that her daughter had no suicidal thoughts.
«Everything was fine with her, there were no suicidal tendencies at all. She is absolutely balanced, calm. A reasonable girl,» Yevgenia said.
She also explained that before disappearing, Sasha had told her dorm neighbor that she was going home. There were no prerequisites for the tragedy.
Alexandra Lalachkina had been practicing sambo (a Russian martial art) since childhood and was a candidate for master of sports. At the age of 12, she became the best at an international tournament in Berlin. Her coach Stanislav Savolokin called her one of the strongest sambists in the Voronezh region and a promising athlete. At the end of December 2025, Lalachkina went to Ryazan for the training camp of the regional team. The mentor then noted that Sasha was preparing for serious high-level competitions. And Alexandra spent the New Year holidays again on the mat: literally two weeks before her death — from January 6 to 9 — she was at a training camp in Balashov, Saratov region.
