Mother drowned child in Moscow after fleeing pedophilia case
In Moscow, a mother brutally killed her five-year-old son. The capital«s prosecutor»s office said the child was found with signs of drowning. The woman has preliminarily confessed to the murder. The suspect moved to Moscow from Nizhny Novgorod Region after a scandal involving her family in 2024, according to the federal Telegram channel Baza.
The body of the five-year-old boy was found in a capital apartment in a residential building on Bratyevskaya Street. According to Baza, the 46-year-old mother — a native of Yakutia — said that she decided to kill her son so that «he would go to heaven.»
According to the Telegram channel, the woman strangled her son with a belt and then drowned him in the bathtub. After that, she called an ambulance. A criminal case has been initiated for the murder of a minor. The woman has been ordered to undergo a psychological and psychiatric examination.
Baza writes that the woman fled from Nizhny Novgorod Region, where she had moved from Yakutia, after a high-profile pedophilia case. She moved to the Volga region capital with her daughter and married a man with two sons. Soon, the couple had a child together, but the marriage did not last long. Despite this, the mother and daughter continued to live in the man«s house in Diveyevo (Nizhny Novgorod Region).
As reported in an NTV story, the stepdaughter accused her stepfather of rape and asked for 40 million rubles (about $444,000 at current rates) — compensation to buy an apartment in Moscow. At the same time, the Yakutia native reported that she was beaten in the garage by the man«s elder son. But camera footage showed that the woman herself was hitting herself with a hammer. The story specifies that the investigation has gathered sufficient evidence of the stepfather»s guilt.
After media attention, the mother expressed a desire to move to the capital and change her surname. The father of the deceased child is still in a pre-trial detention center. Investigators from the capital«s Investigative Committee are interrogating the woman.
