Mother: Doctors Knelt on Me, Causing Newborn's Death
The mother alleges that hospital staff repeatedly denied her request for a cesarean section during labor.
In the Rostov Region, a criminal case has been opened over the death of a newborn at the Regional Clinical Hospital No. 2 in Rostov. This was reported by the press service of the regional Investigative Committee. The child«s mother is convinced that he died due to the doctors» fault. The head of the Russian Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, has taken an interest in the situation.
According to the Investigative Committee, due to «committed defects and incorrectly chosen tactics of medical care,» the infant sustained injuries and died several days after birth.
The video appeal to Bastrykin from the mother of the deceased child was spread on social media by «Russkaya Obshchina» (the Russian Community). It was this that the head of the Investigative Committee ultimately responded to.
In the video, the woman said that the tragedy occurred back at the end of 2025. On the evening of 8 December, her water broke. At 04:00 on 9 December, she was taken by ambulance to OKB No. 2 at 33 1st Konnoy Armii Street. The child was born only on 10 December at 02:50 and showed no signs of life.
«The doctors could not make a decision about my delivery for a long time. The birth proceeded naturally. The doctors squeezed the child by kneeling on top of me,» the Rostov woman claims.
In «Russkaya Obshchina,» the situation was described in more detail. Allegedly, the doctors could not determine for a long time whether the woman was having contractions. She asked them to perform a cesarean section, but they refused «due to unspoken risks.» At the same time, they allegedly administered epidural anesthesia five times.
The decision on the delivery, according to the message, was postponed until the child was in the birth canal.
«The doctor knelt on the woman»s stomach from above and began forcefully squeezing out the child, who due to such manipulations no longer showed signs of life. After a few minutes, [another] doctor administered another anesthesia and accused the woman of the child«s poor condition,» say those in «Russkaya Obshchina.»
According to the woman herself, the newborn was placed in intensive care under a mechanical ventilator (IVL). Doctors informed the mother that the infant had a broken shoulder and was in extremely critical condition. On 13 December, the infant died.
«The doctors tried in every way to blame me for this situation. In the death certificate issued by the hospital, one of the causes [of death] was listed as the mother»s illness. As a result of the autopsy, the pathologist issued a report with a multitude of diseases and infections. She avoided answering all our questions,« the woman says.
From the autopsy report published by «Russkaya Obshchina,» it follows that the pregnancy proceeded with complications, and the child was born with hepatitis, pancreatitis, a DNA virus, nephritis, necrosis, and other diseases. He died, according to the document, from cerebral hemorrhage.
«My pregnancy proceeded without complications, without threats to the child»s life. All tests, screenings, ultrasounds — everything showed positive results. Upon discharge from the hospital, we were given a certificate that they later asked us to destroy within a few days,« the woman recounted.
From Bastrykin and «Russkaya Obshchina,» the Rostov woman asked for «assistance in providing help in this situation,» without specifying the desired outcomes of the investigation. In «Russkaya Obshchina,» while spreading the video, they state that it is about «negligence of doctors» and «a string of medical errors» that law enforcement agencies need to pay attention to.
161.RU has sent an official inquiry to the Ministry of Health of the Rostov Region requesting comment on the tragedy.
