In the village of Vorotneye, Sergiyevsky District, Samara Oblast, a war between families has been ongoing for two and a half years. It started after a traffic accident in which local resident Olga K. in a Lada Granta hit the 11-year-old son of Yulia Zorina. Recently, a confrontation took place there between Yulia and Sergei N. — a man whom the woman accuses of threatening to «slaughter» her family.

The conflict, which split the village, began on 7 August 2023. Olga K. in a Lada Granta car ran over the 11-year-old son of Yulia. According to the mother, the child was not only hit but also beaten, after which he was taken home without calling an ambulance. The boy was diagnosed with a concussion and severe psychological trauma. The court found the driver guilty in the traffic accident.

However, the story did not end there. According to Yulia, the family of the person responsible for the accident demanded 400,000 rubles (approx. $4,400 at current rates) from her for scratches on the car and began harassment. Threats were made, and collective complaints were filed with the guardianship authorities. The situation reached such intensity that almost the entire village turned against the Zorin family. They are forced to live a reclusive life, afraid to go outside. 30 residents signed a collective complaint to the guardianship authorities, accusing Yulia of improper care of her children and spreading rumors about her personal life (for example, that she was adopted in infancy).

Yulia, trying to defend herself, turned to the police, but as a result, she herself became a suspect in a criminal case under Article 306 of the Russian Criminal Code («Knowingly False Denunciation»). Her reports of extortion and threats, according to the investigation, were not confirmed. As part of this case, she was appointed a confrontation with Sergei N.

What Happened at the Confrontation?

«The first thing I heard: »Sign the non-disclosure agreement«,» Yulia told a 63.RU journalist. «Instead of reflecting in the protocol the fact that an audio recording was being made — only pressure. I refused. I»m afraid this is a new trap«.

She considered her main trump card to be audio recordings with threats, saved on a disc. She insisted on listening to them. But to no avail.

«The investigator asks: »Audio recording of what?«. I answer: »With the voice of this witness«. And he immediately jumps up: »And did you check them? There are no cuts there?«. I realized: he knows the content,» says Zorina.

Sergei N., according to her, refused to listen to the recording, stating that he is afraid of computer viruses.

«A person is accused of death threats, and he — I won»t, viruses. Is that how an innocent person behaves?« Yulia wonders.

«Enemy Relations»

When asked by the investigator about her relationship with Sergei, Yulia, according to her, answered directly: «Enemy. Because he is trying to slaughter my children». She was immediately stopped, demanded to answer strictly to the question. Further, according to her story, the witness confused his testimony, sometimes admitting to calls, sometimes denying threats, and in the end stated that he never threatened her.

Even before the interrogation began, according to Yulia, a conflict arose: she, as a suspect, was not allowed to bring her phone to call a lawyer, while the witness, in her observations, freely used his device. The culmination came after the confrontation:

«I was told: »Go on foot«. And he was personally driven home in a service car by that very police officer, whose objectivity I doubt,» Yulia Zorina said.

Another Perspective: What the NTV Investigation Showed

The conflict in Vorotneye was also covered by the federal TV channel NTV. Its journalists stated that Yulia«s son after the accident withdrew into himself, was panicky afraid to go outside, was transferred to home schooling, and is observed by a psychiatrist. At the same time, a key and unpleasant question for Yulia was raised: is she not exacerbating her son»s trauma by involving him in a protracted adult war?

«In her desire to punish Olga»s family, she is traumatizing the child«s psyche even more,» it is noted in the story.

The other side of the conflict, Olga K., on NTV air called Yulia«s words a lie and a way to improve her financial situation, and the threats — a staging. According to her version, Zorina herself created a fake page with threats to appear as a victim.

Unsubstantiated War and Its Price

The paradox of the situation, noted both in our material and in the NTV report, is that with an abundance of mutual accusations (extortion, slander, theft), each side cannot provide indisputable evidence of the opponent«s guilt. The law enforcement system, having studied the initial statements, did not find elements of a crime. But the result was not a ceased litigation, but a criminal case against Yulia Zorina herself. Now she is waiting for the protocol of the confrontation and preparing for a psychological-psychiatric examination.

«Now I know exactly who I am dealing with. And there is nowhere to retreat. Behind — are my children,» she says.
