Mother Blames Doctors for Newborn Death After Knee Pressure During Birth

A criminal case has been opened in the Rostov region in connection with the death of a newborn at Regional Clinical Hospital No. 2. According to the press service of the Investigative Committee, the infant«s mother believes doctors are to blame for the tragedy. The incident has drawn the attention of Alexander Bastrykin, chairman of Russia»s Investigative Committee.

The investigation found that the child sustained injuries and died several days after birth due to admitted defects and an incorrectly chosen medical assistance tactic.

The mother«s appeal to Bastrykin was disseminated on social media by the organization »Russian Community,« after which the head of the department reacted to the situation.

In her video address, the woman reported that the incident occurred in December 2025. On the evening of December 8, her water broke, and at 4 a.m. on December 9, she was taken by ambulance to the hospital on 1st Cavalry Army Street. The delivery occurred only on December 10 at 2:50 a.m., but the child was born without signs of life.

«The doctors could not make a decision about my delivery for a long time. The birth proceeded naturally. The doctors squeezed the child out by kneeling on top of me,» the Rostov woman claims.

In «Russian Community,» they added that the medics doubted the presence of contractions in the woman in labor. Despite her requests for a cesarean section, the operation was refused, citing unspecified risks. At the same time, the woman was given epidural anesthesia five times.

The decision on delivery, it is claimed, was delayed until the fetus was already in the birth canal.

«A doctor knelt on the woman»s stomach from above and began forcefully squeezing out the child, who due to such manipulations no longer showed signs of life. After a few minutes, [another] doctor administered another anesthesia and blamed the woman for the child«s poor condition,» say those in «Russian Community.»

The newborn, according to the mother, was placed in intensive care on a ventilator. Medics informed her of a shoulder fracture in the child and his critical condition. On December 13, the infant died.

The woman claims that the doctors tried to shift the blame onto her. In the death certificate issued by the hospital, one of the causes listed was the mother«s illness. The pathologist who performed the autopsy issued a conclusion with numerous diagnoses and infections, but, according to the claimant, avoided answering questions.

According to the autopsy report published by «Russian Community,» the pregnancy was accompanied by complications, and the child was found to have hepatitis, pancreatitis, a DNA virus, nephritis, necroses, and other pathologies. The official cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage.

The mother denies any complications during pregnancy, asserting that all examinations, including screenings and ultrasounds, yielded positive results. According to her, upon discharge from the hospital, they were given a certificate that they were later asked to destroy.

Addressing Bastrykin and «Russian Community,» the woman asked for help in resolving the situation without specifying her demands. The organization characterized what happened as negligence and a chain of medical errors, calling on law enforcement to pay attention to this.
