Moscow Residential Complex Hit by Power and Water Outages

Residents of the residential complex on Varshavskoye Shosse reported repeated utility failures.
On 20 July, residents of a residential complex on Varshavskoye Shosse in Moscow complained about utility failures. For the second time in three days, they were left without electricity and water.

The power issues stemmed from problems on external supply networks.
We are talking about the complex at 141 Varshavskoye Shosse. According to residents, the first time there was no electricity for about 12 hours. Without it, there is no water, no elevators — which causes serious inconvenience.

The residential complex was plunged into darkness during the outages.
«Today around 17:00, the power went out again in the residential complex. Because of the lack of electricity, the pumps are not working, so there is no water in the apartments,» writes the Telegram channel Ostorozhno, Novosti.

Because the elevators were not working, it was difficult for residents to reach the upper floors of the 25-story residential complex.

Emergency situations occurred twice within three days, affecting residents.
«Some people physically cannot even get up, they stand outside with strollers,» readers of the Telegram channel said.
Also, according to residents, representatives of the management company PIK-Komfort Pro could not tell them the cause of the accident — and even find the keys to the electrical panel. Its doors allegedly had to be cut with an angle grinder.
The editors of MSK1.RU contacted the press service of the PIK group of companies for comment. There, they explained that the cause of the power outage was an emergency situation on the external power supply networks. The company emphasized that these networks are «outside the zone of operational responsibility of the management company.»
«The information that the management company employees could not get into the electrical panel and were forced to break it open is not true. It was about access for employees of the electric grid organization to the district transformer substation,» the press service added.
The press service also listed the measures that the management company PIK-Komfort took to alleviate the situation for residents. Namely, it organized the delivery of drinking water, around-the-clock staffing, interaction with the electric grid organization and relevant services, and the installation of mobile diesel generators for the phased restoration of power supply.
Earlier, we reported that a few days ago, an electrical substation caught fire in the Moscow Region. Then residents of Lyubertsy and Kotelniki were left without electricity. We detailed this incident.
