Moscow mother drowned son, fled after pedophilia case

The body of a five-year-old boy with signs of drowning was found in an apartment on Bratyevskaya Street in Moscow. His mother, a 46-year-old native of Yakutia, confessed to the murder.

According to preliminary information, the woman first strangled the child with a belt and then drowned him in the bathtub. After that, she called an ambulance herself. A criminal case on the murder of a minor has been initiated, and a psychological and psychiatric examination has been ordered.

The suspect explained her actions by a desire to send her son «to heaven». She moved to the capital from the Nizhny Novgorod region, where she had previously relocated from Yakutia.

As reported by the Telegram channel Baza, the woman left the Nizhny Novgorod region after a high-profile pedophilia case. In the town of Diveyevo (in the Nizhny Novgorod region), she lived with her daughter and married a local man, with whom she had a child. The marriage quickly fell apart, but the mother and daughter remained in the house of her former husband.

According to NTV, the stepdaughter accused her stepfather of rape and demanded 40 million rubles (approximately $400,000 at current rates) from him to buy an apartment in Moscow. The woman herself claimed that she was beaten by the man«s older son, but surveillance camera footage refuted this: it shows her hitting herself with a hammer. The investigation gathered evidence of the stepfather»s guilt.

After the story became public, the mother announced her intention to move to Moscow and change her surname. The father of the deceased boy is currently in a pre-trial detention center (SIZO). Investigators continue to interrogate the suspect.

Recall that last year in Moscow, a similar crime occurred: in the Golyanovsky Pond, the head of a child killed by his own mother was found. That woman also confessed to everything but could not name the reason for her actions. She was arrested and handed over to the court.
