Two passengers from a tourist bus involved in a fatal collision with a car carrier in the Khasansky District of Primorye have been hospitalized. They sought medical attention themselves due to deteriorating health, according to the regional Ministry of Health.

One female patient was transported by ambulance from the Nadezhdinsky District to the «Tysochokonechnaya» Hospital in Vladivostok, to the neurosurgery department. It was found that she is in a condition of moderate severity. Another woman from Vladivostok also ended up in the same hospital after complaining of her health, but she was ultimately prescribed outpatient treatment.

The second patient turned out to be a resident of the Kavalerovsky District, and he was hospitalized in the central district hospital, in the traumatology department. His condition is also assessed as moderate severity.

The condition of three patients who ended up in the Khasansky Central District Hospital is still serious. Whether they will be transferred to Vladivostok, as reported earlier, is unclear.

Also, three people contacted the psychological assistance hotline. If you are among the victims or relatives of the deceased and injured participants in the accident, you can get support by calling the phone number +7 902 480-77-15. Calls starting from 07:30 are taken by a clinical psychologist.

The accident occurred on the evening of January 22 in the area of the village of Barabash. The King Lion bus was carrying tourists from the Chinese city of Hunchun, and at the 56th kilometer from the Ussuriysk side towards the Kraskino border crossing, an empty FAW Jiefang car carrier crashed into it, leading to a collision with four other vehicles. There were at least 14 people on the bus, three of whom, including the driver and a passenger, died. Another five were injured: three were in serious condition, and two refused hospitalization.

Later it became known that the heavy vehicle was driven by a 38-year-old resident of China with 6 years of driving experience. Presumably, the trailer of the vehicle skidded into the oncoming lane and he lost control, which is why he was detained as a suspect in a case of traffic violation resulting in the negligent death of two or more persons (Part 5 of Article 265 of the Russian Criminal Code).

First Vice-Governor of Primorye Krai Vera Shcherbina reported that the families of those killed in the accident in the Khasansky District will receive material assistance. By order of Governor Oleg Kozhemyako, they will receive 300,000 rubles each (approximately $3,000 at current rates).
