MMA fighter's teen beating case goes to court
A young MMA fighter from Tomsk District will stand trial for brutally beating a peer. The conflict arose over a girl, the regional prosecutor«s office reported.
The brutal beating of a 15-year-old teenager occurred in October 2025 in the Yuzhnye Vorota megadistrict. The victim«s mother stated that her son had knocked-out teeth, torn gums, bruises, and abrasions on his head and body. The woman said the attack was carried out by a drunk 16-year-old MMA athlete. The district prosecutor»s office demanded via court that the perpetrator«s parents pay 500,000 rubles (approximately $5,000 at current rates) in moral damages.
As became known on February 4, the fighter was charged with causing moderate bodily harm (Part 1 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and threatening to kill (Part 1 of Article 119 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
The investigation established that he was waiting for his ex-girlfriend near an entrance to sort things out. She arrived not alone, but with a 15-year-old boy, with whom the athlete then got into a conflict. He sharply struck the rival in the jaw, then continued to beat him, delivering punches and kicks to the head and body. At the same time, he threatened retaliation if he saw the boy with his ex-girlfriend again.
The defendant fully admitted his guilt and stated that he sincerely repents. The criminal case has been sent to a magistrate judge.
