Massive traffic jam paralyzes access to Akadem District

A long traffic jam has formed at one of the entrances to Akadem District (Yekaterinburg). Amundsen Street is at a near standstill from its intersection with Shchorsa Street to the Bypass Road.

A long traffic jam has formed at one of the entrances to Akadem District (Yekaterinburg). Amundsen Street is at a near standstill from its intersection with Shchorsa Street to the Bypass Road, with traffic also congested in the opposite direction.

The traffic jam stretches for four kilometers near the district«s entrance.

Maps show a traffic accident at the intersection with the Bypass Road. The crash is likely the cause of the congestion. We reached out to the city«s State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI) for comment. They responded that no one was injured in the accident and urged drivers to follow road safety rules.

A local resident filmed the extensive traffic congestion near their home.
