Man Forces Young Children into Icy Sea in Sochi
Onlookers expressed outrage at the man«s behavior on a chilly beach.
Police in Sochi have launched an investigation following an incident where children were forced to bathe in the icy sea. Eyewitness videos appeared on social media on January 23.
Witnesses reported the man dunked a young girl first.
According to witnesses, around 10:00 a.m. at the «Kuba» beach in the Mamayka district, a man forcibly dragged two young children into the sea. Eyewitnesses claim the man first dunked a girl underwater several times, ignoring her screams, before submerging a one-year-old boy.
The man was later confronted by people on the street.
Local residents noted that the day in Sochi was around +9°C (48°F) and cloudy, with the sea temperature not exceeding +10°C (50°F). In one of the published videos, passersby are seen wearing warm jackets and hats.
According to eyewitnesses, the man reacted aggressively to comments from passersby.
«As a mother of three young children, I was horrified. A woman, also a mother with an infant in a stroller, approached. She asked what he was doing. In response, the man became rude and started shouting, asking who she was. The woman said, «I am a mother.» And he answered, «And I am the father.»»
The videos were seen by police. Officers arrived at the scene and are establishing all the circumstances. The parents« actions are to be given a legal assessment.
