M-5 Highway Closed in Chelyabinsk Oblast Due to Truck Accident

The M-5 highway towards Yekaterinburg is closed following a collision with a heavy truck.
The M-5 highway in Chelyabinsk Oblast has been closed due to an accident involving a heavy truck. Restrictions are in place on the route to Yekaterinburg in the Kunashaksky District beyond Bolshoy Kuyash, according to the regional State Traffic Inspectorate (GAI).
Traffic patrol and special equipment are deployed to remove a vehicle from the ditch.
“At the 92nd kilometer of the M-5 ‘Ural’ highway (approach to Yekaterinburg), an accident occurred involving a cargo vehicle. Currently, traffic patrol crews and special equipment are working at the scene to extract the vehicle from the ditch. Traffic towards Yekaterinburg is heavily restricted, and lengthy delays are possible,” warned the GAI.
Drivers were asked to choose alternative routes in advance or be prepared for delays on the road.
Updated at 18:53: The GAI reported that the highway has been cleared, and traffic has been restored.
