A serious accident occurred today in Lermontov. The driver of a passenger car crashed into a garbage truck; the impact was severe and the man later died in the hospital.

According to the Stavropol Territory traffic police, the crash happened around 07:30 on Promyshlennaya Street. The 33-year-old driver of a Lada Kalina entered the oncoming lane and collided with a MAZ garbage truck.
He was taken to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Pyatigorsk, but his injuries were too severe and he died.
Law enforcement established that the driver, a resident of the Andropovsky district, had eight years of driving experience. He had previously been held administratively liable for traffic violations seven times.
Meanwhile, another serious accident occurred in the Budyonnovsky district. On the Kochubey–Neftekumsk–Zelenokumsk–Mineralnye Vody highway, the driver of a Howo T5G truck attempted to turn left at an intersection but failed to yield to a VAZ-21140 traveling in the oncoming lane, resulting in a collision. Two people were injured, including a 16-year-old teenager.
