The joint press service of the courts of Krasnodar Krai reported that the head of Krymsk, Yanis Budagov, will remain in custody. He attempted to file an appeal and change the pre-trial restriction measure.

«The appellate court found that, due to the grounds and motives outlined in them, it is impossible to select a different pre-trial restriction measure for the accused. Budagov will remain in custody,» the press service«s statement said.

Earlier, the portal 93.RU wrote that the head of Krymsk, Yanis Budagov, was detained on December 22, 2025. According to investigators, he may be involved in crimes for which the head of Krymsky District, Sergei Les, is suspected.

With Budagov«s assistance, a plot of land was withdrawn from municipal property and transferred to persons affiliated with Les. The cost of this plot was 120 million rubles (approximately $1.33 million at current rates). A criminal case was initiated against Budagov under Part 3, Article 286, paragraph »v« of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (exceeding official authority).
