Due to a global failure in the Leonardo booking system, passengers cannot check in for flights, check baggage, rebook or refund tickets, and access other services.
The restrictions affect all sales channels: airline websites, contact centers, and agency services. This is reported by Krasnoyarsk Airport.
‘The outage may affect some flights operating to and from Krasnoyarsk Airport, including possible schedule changes,’ say airport representatives.
They report that the outage has affected many Russian airlines, including Ural Airlines, Utair, Red Wings, Aeroflot, and its subsidiaries.
On Aeroflot and Pobeda services, they state that ‘the service provider is already working to restore normal system operation.’
Leonardo is a domestic airline booking system developed by the corporations Sirena-Travel and Rostech.
The airport recommends that passengers plan their arrival time for flights in advance and monitor updates on official resources.
In September 2023, a similar booking system outage occurred. Aeroflot, Pobeda, and Rossiya faced check-in difficulties. At that time, flights were checked in manually.
And at the Rostech corporation, they reported that the cause of the outage was a massive hacker attack.
