Knee-deep flooding hits streets in Yekaterinburg's Gypsy Settlement
In the Gypsy Settlement on VIZ, a whole street has been flooded. Local residents shared impressive footage with E1.RU from the private sector. Neighbors immediately called an emergency team, but according to them, the flow of water has not stopped for about an hour.
What a lovely morning, neighbors on Lineynaya Street. In my yard, the water is knee-deep, in the neighbors« house, it»s knee-deep water. And this is the flow we have, it«s been running for probably an hour, probably reached the beginning of Lineynaya. We can, it turns out, launch little boats. Everything is steaming. I don»t know how we«re going to deal with all this later,comments the video author.
Her neighbors clarify that water is also flowing along parallel streets — Otradnaya and Kopernika.
Yards and houses are being flooded, it«s just terrible,added another local resident.
Cold water is running from the street corner. The new pipes of the apartment blocks burst, the emergency team is at the corner of Repina and Lineynaya,reported another Yekaterinburg resident.
The E1.RU editorial office reached out to the press service of Vodokanal for comment, but was unable to get a response promptly.
Last autumn, in the Svetly microdistrict, a cold water pipe burst. A huge flow of water ran from the local parking area and flooded the street, along which cars were parked.
