Kazan-Nizhny Novgorod Train Hits Carsharing Car in Accident

The collision caused significant damage to the car and resulted in delays for multiple trains.
An electric train traveling from Kazan to Nizhny Novgorod was involved in an accident in Tatarstan. The train hit a carsharing car that entered the tracks on a red light. Details were provided by the press service of the Volga Transport Prosecutor«s Office.
The accident occurred around 4 p.m. on January 28 on the section between Lageranya and Novoye Arakchino stations in the Kirovsky District of Kazan. Footage from the scene shows the car was seriously damaged. The train driver applied emergency brakes, but the collision could not be avoided.
According to local media, two people were injured in the accident: a 25-year-old driver and his 30-year-old passenger.
The train involved in the accident was delayed by 23 minutes, and the following train No. 6323 from Kazan to Paratsk was delayed by 13 minutes.
