An electric train traveling on the Kazan-Nizhny Novgorod route collided with a carsharing car in Tatarstan. According to the Volga Transport Prosecutor«s Office, the car drove onto the railway tracks on a red traffic light signal.
The accident occurred on January 28 around 4:00 p.m. on the section between Lagernaya and Novoye Arakchino stations in the Kirovsky District of Kazan. The train driver applied emergency braking, but could not avoid the collision.
As a result of the accident, two people were injured: a 25-year-old driver and a 30-year-old passenger.
Due to the incident, train traffic was disrupted. The electric train involved in the accident was delayed by 23 minutes, and the following train No. 6323 Kazan-Paratsk was delayed by 13 minutes.
