Intoxicated driver hits woman in central Ulyanovsk

On January 26, around 12:30 PM in the Leninsky district of Ulyanovsk, a woman was injured in a traffic accident, the regional State Traffic Inspectorate reported. Preliminary information indicates that a 52-year-old man driving a Chevrolet Cruz hit a 40-year-old woman standing on the side of Novgorodskaya Street. The driver refused to undergo a medical examination. The victim required medical assistance. Details of the accident are being clarified.

In the evening, around 10:00 PM on Apollona Syscova Street in the Zavolzhsky district, a 57-year-old driver of a Skoda Octavia crashed into a parked VAZ 2101 (often called «kopeyka»). The impact threw the domestic car onto a pedestrian standing in front. As a result, a 23-year-old man was taken to a medical facility. Also injured were passengers of the «kopeyka» – a 25-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman. Details of the accidents are being clarified.
