Infant Killed in Collision with Fuel Truck on Moscow-Ufa Highway

The girl, who was only two months old, died in an accident on the Moscow-Ufa highway. The tragedy occurred at the 947th kilometer of the M-7 highway, in the Mamadysh District. This was reported by the prosecutor«s office and traffic police of Tatarstan.

Preliminary details of the accident are as follows. The 31-year-old driver of a Renault car, as established by law enforcement, did not choose a safe speed and distance on the snowy highway. As a result, he crashed at full speed into a parked semi-trailer of a fuel truck. Its driver had stopped to clear the vehicle of snow.
According to eyewitnesses, the girl was transported according to all rules—she was in a special child seat—however, the injuries sustained were incompatible with life. The child died at the scene before the ambulance arrived.
Preliminarily, the father of the baby was driving the foreign car, and her mother was also in the cabin. The condition of the parents and details of the tragedy are being ascertained, as are all circumstances of the accident and compliance with traffic rules by all participants. The issue of initiating a criminal case is being decided.
Recall that earlier today before lunch, the M-5 highway was closed due to adverse weather conditions.
