In Kazan, Tractor Fatally Crushes Worker Standing Nearby
In Kazan, a tractor fatally crushed a 63-year-old worker while pumping water from a water pipe. This was reported by MUP «Vodokanal» (Municipal Unitary Enterprise «Vodokanal») and the Prosecutor«s Office of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Specialists from MUP «Vodokanal» were fixing a leak on a water pipe on Boevaya Street. At some point, the tractor rolled into a depression on its own, where a technological pipe runs, and accidentally crushed the standing worker. He died. The driver of the heavy equipment was not injured.
«We express condolences to the relatives of the deceased. All circumstances of this tragedy will be carefully studied and established,» the enterprise noted.
The prosecutor«s office has begun an investigation into whether the employer complied with labor safety legislation. Deputy Prosecutor of the city of Kazan Ruslan Gabitov went to the scene.
