Ice Fall Injures Child with Spine Trauma in Nizhny Novgorod

Ice fell on a 12-year-old schoolboy in the Avtozavodsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. Details were reported by the press service of the regional investigative committee.

According to the department, the incident occurred on January 29 near house No. 4 on Chelyuskintsev Street. The child was passing by the building when ice fell on him. The boy was taken from the scene to the hospital, where he was diagnosed with a spinal injury and given necessary assistance.

In connection with the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, investigators have opened a criminal case. The Investigative Committee believes that the child was injured because the management company did not clear the snow from the roof in time.

The responsible employee of the management company has already been charged. The administration of the Avtozavodsky district, in turn, stated that the 12-year-old boy is now in satisfactory condition. Representatives of the administration and the management company met with the child«s mother in the hospital and offered her necessary assistance.
