Rescuers and police found the body of a hunter who went missing at the end of last year in Tofalariya. On January 22, a group discovered a burned winter hut and the remains of a 48-year-old man, according to the Search and Rescue Service of Irkutsk Region.
It is known that the man went hunting in the area of the Khanda and Uda rivers in early October 2025. He was last in contact with relatives on December 11, and nothing has been heard from him since.
The circumstances of the hunter«s death are being investigated. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Irkutsk Region has not yet responded to a question from IrCity journalist about whether the man»s death is criminal in nature.
