Seven-year-old Maksim Bakharev died in March last year during a house explosion in Tobolsk. His mother suffered serious injuries.

The investigation found that the tragedy was caused by damage to a gas pipeline coupling during gas connection work. Two employees of TGV Engineering LLC have been charged criminally: welder Nikita Konstantinov and foreman Sergey Poluyanov.

Anton Bakharev, the owner of the damaged house, reported that the investigation has been extended until February 12 and could be extended further. «The investigation is still ongoing—it was extended until February 12. There is a possibility it will be extended until March. The documents have not yet been sent to court. We are now waiting for the prosecutor»s office to review the materials and file the charges,« said Bakharev.

The men previously detained in this case have been released from custody. According to the father, they now work for a different organization.

The family continues to live in Tobolsk. The mother of the deceased boy is undergoing rehabilitation for her injuries. «My wife is recovering, she goes for procedures. At the end of September, we were at a rehabilitation center in Matsesta (a resort in Sochi). The wounds are healing,» added Anton Bakharev.
