House destroyed, one killed in Yaroslavl Oblast fire

A fire in the village of Bor in Yaroslavl Oblast destroyed a house and resulted in one fatality and one injury, according to emergency services.

On January 24 at 03:18, a fire broke out in Yaroslavl Oblast. In the village of Bor in Nekrasovsky District, a house caught fire. 24 firefighters and 7 vehicles were dispatched to the scene.

The fire was extinguished for almost 12 hours, until 14:25. The preliminary cause of the fire is being established, as reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM). As a result of the emergency, the house with an area of 150 square meters was completely destroyed by fire. There were also casualties.

«Unfortunately, one person was killed, one person was injured,» said the press service of EMERCOM.

In total on January 24, rescuers extinguished nine man-made fires. On that day, fire engulfed houses in Rybinsk, Uglich, and Yaroslavl District.

Earlier, on January 21, a grocery store caught fire in Krasnye Tkachi. The preliminary cause of the fire is an emergency mode of the electrical network. As reported by the department, the fire destroyed 10 meters of wiring and 12 square meters of ceiling. The walls were sooted, as well as goods on an area of 64 square meters.

On the night of January 20, a fire occurred at an auto service center in Yaroslavl, eight cars burned. Witnesses reported loud bangs in the building. It is known that there were gas cylinders inside. 32 rescuers and 12 fire trucks worked at the scene. It took almost four hours to fight the fire. After the fire, EMERCOM appointed an inspection.
