Hospital Staff Involved in Road Accident in Nizhny Novgorod Region
In an accident on the R-159 highway in the Urensky district, the driver died and two passengers, including a nurse, were injured.

The accident, which involved staff of the Tonshayevskaya Central District Hospital, occurred on the morning of 21 January in the Urensky district. According to the regional State Labour Inspectorate, one person died.
The collision of two passenger cars happened at the 185th kilometre of the R-159 highway «Nizhny Novgorod — Shakhunya — Kirov», near the turn to the village of Zabegaikha.
One of the cars carried medical workers who were traveling on official business to Nizhny Novgorod. The deceased was a 58-year-old driver. Among the injured was a 59-year-old nurse from the same hospital, who was taken to a medical facility with multiple injuries. In total, two people were injured.
Rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) were involved in eliminating the consequences of the incident. The State Labour Inspectorate is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
The day before, on 20 January, another serious accident occurred in the region. In the area of Arzamas, a Škoda and a Chevrolet collided. In that accident, three employees of the «Corporation for the Development of Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region» died: two at the scene and one later in hospital.
