Hit-and-run sedan rolls victim on hood in Novosibirsk
In Novosibirsk on Aviastroitely Street, a sedan crashed into a car stopped at a traffic light, rolled the victim on its hood, and fled the scene. A participant in the accident said the perpetrator«s car resembles one that was stolen.
The victim, Denis, told NGS that on January 24, a sedan crashed into his car, which was stopped at a traffic light. The man got out of his vehicle to document the accident, but the perpetrator fled, rolling the victim on the hood. The moment was captured on dashcam.
According to Denis, the car visually resembles a BYD MG 5 that was stolen on January 24. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (GU MVD) for the region reported that the car was taken from a parking lot near a house on Obedineniya Street by a 22-year-old Novosibirsk resident after a drinking session with an acquaintance. During the ride, he lost control several times and damaged the vehicle.
The stolen car was found by police officers and returned to the owner. A criminal case has been initiated for the theft under Article «Unlawful Possession of a Car or Other Vehicle Without Intent to Steal» (Part 1 of Article 166 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). The detained person has been placed under a travel restriction order.
The press service of the GU MVD for Novosibirsk Region confirmed to NGS that a hit-and-run traffic accident was recorded on January 24 after a collision between two cars. Whether the car thief was involved will be determined by police officers.
