Heating Halted in Darasun Settlement After Valve Rupture

Heating for residents of the settlement Darasun was interrupted for an hour on February 2 due to work to replace a burst valve; now heating is operating normally, said Alexey Ustyushenko, deputy head of the Karymsky District, to a Chita.Ru correspondent.

‘A valve split occurred on the main pipeline on Sovetskaya Street. To replace it, the settlement had to be disconnected from the boiler house. The work took about an hour. At 7:00 PM, heating was started, and the boiler house is reaching standard indicators,’ said the deputy head.

This is not the first incident in Darasun. Earlier, on January 21, an accident occurred on the heating main in the settlement. During severe frosts, heating was completely stopped. 2,250 consumers were left without heat, including minors and disabled people. In homes, the air temperature dropped below the optimal values established by sanitary standards. The Investigative Committee initiated a criminal case under signs of a crime provided for in Part 1, Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ‘Negligence’ regarding the improper performance of duties by officials. According to the investigation, officials improperly fulfilled their legal duties in preparing for the heating season — 2025–2026 in Darasun.
