Heating accident eliminated in Karabash, restoring heat to two districts

The accident on the heating main, which left two districts of Karabash in Russia«s Chelyabinsk Oblast without heating and hot water, has been eliminated. This was reported on Wednesday, January 21, by the district administration. Now, the heating system is being filled with water, the city hall specified. It will take time for homes to warm up.

«The process of filling the heating system will take approximately two to three hours,» the city hall clarified. «Despite the difficulties that have arisen, city services and utility companies are working in a state of high alert.»

The administration promised that all employees will work until normal heating supply is restored.

«I ask all Karabash residents to understand the temporary difficulties,» the administration quoted head Pavel Titov.

Recall that complaints about the shutdown of heating and hot water began the day before. In the morning, the system was already attempted to be started after repairs, but a burst occurred. Two districts were left without heat — more than 30 residential buildings, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MChS), where 3,762 people live. Heating points were set up heating points in schools in the city.

According to forecasts, a sharp cold snap will begin in the region tonight. In the area, meteorologists expect temperatures down to -40 °C (-40 °F).
