Girl Stabs Rosgvardia Officer in St. Petersburg Metro

On the evening of 20 July at around 10:30 PM, an incident involving a Rosgvardia (Russian National Guard) officer and an erratic passenger occurred in the St. Petersburg metro. The officer, representing the Nevsky District, noticed a girl in the carriage who was chaotically falling to the floor and climbing onto seats. The officer approached her to calm her down, but after assessing the passenger«s condition as erratic, she contacted the train driver and asked to call a police squad to Alexander Nevsky Square station. When the train arrived, the officer took the girl by the arm and began to lead her out of the carriage.

Suddenly, the girl pulled out a knife and struck the officer several times on the arm. The attacker was detained by the arriving police squad and taken to the precinct. It emerged that the girl, born in 2008, had been repeatedly caught in a state of drug intoxication. The injured officer, after handing over the detainee to colleagues, went to a trauma center. A criminal case over the attack has not yet been initiated.
