Anton Gusev, the son of an FTS (Federal Tax Service) official and a businessman, who caused a terrible accident on Kholzunova Street in which Valeria Sultanova died, has finally been extradited to Russia and is now in Voronezh — at the time of publication, in the Kominternovsky Court. For some reason, police investigators did not boast about their achievements in this criminal case. I was informed about Gusev being brought to court at 10 a.m. on 23 January for a decision on extending his arrest, actually, by the court. The hearing has already taken place, and the judge is in the deliberation room.

Initially, recall, the Kominternovsky Court arrested Gusev in absentia in September 2025, when he had already fled from the police — for two months. The decision was to take effect immediately after his arrest. It became known in late November that the privileged son had been caught on the territory of Belarus, although it happened earlier. The issue of extending the detention period was now being decided because two months had passed since the extradition — when the court«s decision to send Gusev to a pre-trial detention center (SIZO) took effect.

Investigators from the regional head office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD), who essentially let the privileged youth slip away, have stopped giving comments on this case amid the federal scandal. Meanwhile, the central apparatus of the Investigative Committee is now investigating a case against the police officers themselves — for negligence.

Update. Anton Gusev will remain in the pre-trial detention center (SIZO) at least until 8 March, according to the Kominternovsky Court.
