As a result of the incident, there were no casualties. Recovery trains immediately headed to the accident site, but the incident caused disruptions in the schedule of dozens of trains.

Passengers in Yekaterinburg faced delays. One of them shared observations: «Trains are not arriving at the railway station, only postponements are announced. My train was supposed to depart at 21:30, it departed at 22:10. And so it is with all trains, some are delayed even more. Boarding has been reduced to 15 minutes.»

By the morning of 2 February, all derailed wagons had been lifted. Power supply was restored on the section, and traffic was launched on one track. The government of Kirov Oblast clarified: «Trains have been launched in reverse motion on one of the tracks. First of all, passenger trains will be passed here. Work to restore travel on the second track continues.»

Earlier, massive train delays occurred due to a fire in tanks with gas condensate on the border of Sverdlovsk Oblast and Perm Krai.
