Freight Cars Derail Near Tula, Trains Delayed
A freight train derailment on the evening of January 21 has resulted in several passenger trains being delayed by hours.

Seven empty freight cars derailed in Tula Region on January 21 at 21:54. The incident occurred on the Zhdanka–Tovarkovo section, as reported by the Moscow Railway.
As a result of the derailment, several passenger trains are delayed. The delay time ranges from 2.5 to 4 hours. Among the affected services:
- No. 49 Saint Petersburg – Kislovodsk
- No. 25 Moscow – Voronezh
- No. 33 Moscow – Vladikavkaz
- No. 57 Moscow – Belgorod
- No. 58 Belgorod – Moscow
- No. 62 Nalchik – Moscow
- No. 26 Voronezh – Moscow
Rail traffic was restored in the morning of January 22. First, one track was opened at 5:20, and after 7:00, both tracks. The work to clear the aftermath of the incident has been fully completed.
Moscow Railway is taking all necessary measures to reduce train delay times and quickly restore them to schedule, as noted in the press service«s statement.
